I work in the places where arts & education intersect: in theatre making puppets, props, costumes & installations with a focus in educational environments & theatre for the very young, working as a Teaching Artist leading visual arts opportunities for youth & facilitating professional development for teachers. I also create sculptural & functional ceramics, all with a shared approach of material exploration, trusting intuition, and play.
Professional Development
I design and facilitate costomized professional development for arts and non-arts classroom teachers, administrators, and teaching artists. Rooted in inquiry, process, and choice-based learning, I guide participants through both hands on projects that can be adapted to their professional spaces and intentional time to begin to incorporate topics from the day into their plans and projects both individually and collaboratively. I can design a learning opportunity from scratch to meet your needs or adapt an offering to address specific goals or standards.
I've had the privilege to work with education professionals across the Chicagoland area including, the Cicero School District, new Teaching Artist cohorts for Urban Gateways, and numerous Chicago Public School locations through partnering organizations.
